PARASIM®
Our virtual reality parachute training simulator increases mission success and safety while reducing training costs.
PARASIM is an interactive training simulator that enables parachute jumpers to hone their skills and plan missions on the ground before they take to the air. Combining 3-D virtual reality technology with validated parachute dynamics and realistic controls, it simulates what jumpers see and experience, in real-time.
Lower training cost, reduced risk and greater preparedness
Train jumpers in parachute maneuvering and prepare them to manage the unexpected in the safety of the classroom. A PARASIM simulation jump costs less per trainee than an actual jump, but that’s not all. You’ll get more out of your live training jumps because you have imparted the basic skills, automatic reactions and muscle memory ahead of time. Your team will already have practice managing malfunctions and other emergencies.
PARASIM recreates the experience of a jump with controls, real world scenes, lighting effects, various weather conditions, and a full library of terrain types, all in 3-D. Our virtual canopies animate in response to jumper steering inputs and offer a full range of canopy malfunction.
Rehearse group operations
Plan every detail of a group mission including possible problem scenarios using real-world terrain data and imagery. Team members can see each other in the shared virtual environment, follow the team leader, practice grouping, avoid collisions, and land safely together at the target along with equipment. Our body-sensing technology lets you practice tracking, turning and other free fall maneuvers without a wind tunnel.
The global standard, continuously updated
PARASIM has been the standard for aircrew and paratrooper training for nearly 20 years, with nearly over 300 systems sold worldwide. PARASIM is used now by the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines for premeditated airborne operations and emergency egress training. It has also been used by military forces around the world for over 10 years, with a continually growing global presence. Our system is being continuously updated and improved, with recent expansion into mission planning, combination jumping, and free fall maneuvering applications.
A suspension harness equipped with sensors that detect the jumper’s inputs and a head-mounted display with 3D graphics realistically simulate the jump from exit to landing. Tap into our library of geo-specific drop zones or provide us with your own terrain data and imagery.
